- It’s super anti-bacterial and has been shown to reduce bacterial growth in the body.
- It’s anti-inflammatory, and is therefore a very beneficial food for those with gut inflammation and food sensitivities (and any other inflammatory conditions).
- It’s a wonderful source for vitamin K, vitamin A, manganese, copper, vitamin C, calcium, magnesium, iron, folate, and omega-3 fats.
Ingredients:
2 apples, roughly chopped
1 1/2 cups non-dairy milk (I used unsweetened vanilla almond milk)
2 handfuls fresh basil leaves
1-2 tbsp liquid sweetener of choice (I used maple syrup)
1 tbsp lemon juice
a few ice cubes (optional — if you like your smoothies cold)
Directions:
Blend all ingredients together in a blender and drink up!
